Synopsis
A blacksmith working in Portugal, Marco Cristovam has hand-forged metal since apprenticing to master smiths in the Algarve in 1999. He works hot at the anvil, combining traditional technique with story-driven design, producing gates, tools and figures under the name Black Anvil Creations. His practice sits within the wider Algarve artisan scene, which has repeatedly paired craftspeople with designers on collaborative projects.
Forge work: gates, tools and figures beaten hot. Believes anything worth making should still be warm when you carry it home.
